Yamada Ryosuke's Mystery Virgin is the topped Oricon weekly single chart

Popular group Hey!Say!JUMP member Yamada
Ryosuke’s (19) solo debut single “Mystery
Virgin” (released on January 9th) sold 189,000 copies
in the first week, and topped the Oricon weekly single
chart for the week of January 21st.

It was the first time in 32 years and a month for a
teenage solo male artist to top the chart with a debut
single since Kondo Masahiko accomplished it with his
debut single “Sneaker Blues” when he was 16 years
and 5 months old.

This was also the first time in 27 years and 8 month
for any teenage solo male artist to top the single chart
after Kikkawa Koji (with “Nikumaresouna NEW
Face” when he was 19 years and 9 months old),
moreover, Yamada is the first male solo artist born in
the Heisei period to top the single chart.

“Mystery Virgin” was used as the theme song to Nihon
TV’s special drama “Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo -
Hongkong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case” that was
aired on the 12th.
